Happy News for Samsung Galaxy S3 Users. Now, the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 users can install the Android 7.1 Nougat using the Custom Android ROM. The Galaxy S3 won’t get the official update of the Android 7.1 Nougat from Samsung. However, the Android Custom ROM developers have developed the Android 7.1 Nougat Custom ROM update for Samsung Galaxy SIII. Therefore, S3 Phone users can enjoy the latest version of the Android 7.1 on their phones.
Previously, The Telegram Group has released their AICP Custom ROM for many Android devices. AICP (Android Ice Cold Project ) is released first for the HTC Desire HD phones. Furthermore, AICP Custom ROM has been released for many Android Phones. Now, AICP Android 7.1 Nougat Custom ROM has been released for the Samsung Galaxy S3 Phones.
There are many Custom Android ROMS available with the Android 7.1 Nougat Update. The most Popular Cyanogenmod has released the list of Android 7.1 Update devices with CM 14.1. But there is no direct Android 7.1 update for Galaxy S3 phones via Cyanogenmod 14.1. Even though, the AICP ROM is based on the Cyanogenmod Project. The AICP ROM uses the CyanogenMod hardware, drivers and some features.

How to Install Android 7.1 Nougat on Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Phone
Prerequisites
You need the following things before installing the Android 7.1 AICP Custom ROM on S3 Android Phone.
- Rooted Android Phone (How to ROOT Android Phone / Tablet One Click) Optional
- You have to install the Custom Recovery in the Android device (TWRP ,Philz or ClockWorkMod Recovery). Custom Recovery mode will be used to flash the Android 7.1 in Android phone.
- Make sure your Phone has more than 80% of Battery power.
- You have to enable the Developer Options in your Phone. To do that,
- Create backup of Your Data in your Phone to avoid date loss if something unexpectedly happens to your device when installing the ROM.

Steps to Install the Android 7.1 update on Galaxy S3 using AICP ROM
Just follow the simple steps below to flash the Android 7.1 Nougat on Galaxy S3.
Step 1:
First Download the necessary files such as Android 7.1 AICP ROM Zip and GAPPS Zip file in your computer. Then Connect your Galaxy S3 to your PC via USB cable.
Step 2:
In this second step copy the Downloaded ZIP files into your Android Phone’s Internal storage. You can store the files in any folder. Just Remember the folder location. Because, You have to select the files in recovery mode to Install the Android 7.1 in Galaxy s3.
Step 3:
In this step, Boot your phone via Custom Recovery like TWRP or CWM. You can boot your Phone via Custom Recovery mode by doing this, press and holding Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons together. Or n the Command Prompt or Terminal type,
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
Step 4
After entering the Custom Recovery Mode, Wipe out the Cache files in the Phone. To do that, Choose the Wipe > Factory Reset. Also ‘wipe dalvik cache, Data Cache’.
Step 5
After wiping the cache files, Go back to the main Recovery Menu and Choose Install zip from SD card, then select Choose zip from SD card. Now, Locate the Android 7.1 AICP ROM Zip file and confirm the installation process. Then wait for few minutes to complete Android 7.1 installation on Galaxy s3 device.
Step 6
Now, You can install the Google Apps package to get the all basic Google services and Play store app etc.. Once the Gapps installed on your phone, Reboot the Galaxy s3 phone. Now, Your phone will boot with Android 7.1 Nougat Operating system. The first boot after the OS installation will take some time to finish.
